Here in the Finance Department we share a desire to engage and enhance our student’s experience while studying
at the University of Lincoln. As a Professional Services department with limited student face-time we have become increasingly creative in the way we look to add value to our students, most notably by offering project work to individuals and groups to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Past examples include our ‘Strategic Competitor Analysis’ competition in which teams of Business and Accountancy students compiled statistics on our competitor set, collating this information into a presentation that would subsequently be presented to the University’s Board of Governors. At the conclusion of this project, all participants were invited to a drinks reception at the Hilton to celebrate achievements and to allow for further networking with senior members of the Finance Department.
A short film (filmed and edited by University Media students) reviewing this project, is available to view here.
We have also offered opportunities to Photographers, Graphic Designers, Models plus many Accountancy-based students and plan to cast our net further in the future, believing that it is our responsibility
to offer opportunities to our students wherever possible.
